Encore is owned and operated by Chris Stuart and Kevin Cahill, both licensed attorneys in the State of California. With a combined 20 years of licensing experience between them in the areas of individual and corporate representation, Encore's two principals have negotiated more than 7,500 licensing agreements. As a result, few companies are better suited to assist current and prospective licensees navigate their way through the complex issues that commonly arise in licensing transactions.

Chris Stuart — CEO / President
Chris Stuart is President and Chief Executive Officer of Encore Sports & Entertainment, an athlete and corporate representation company that he co-founded in 2004. Encore is recognized as an industry leader in licensing and sports marketing with a reputation for building/ protecting brands and maximizing revenues for its clients. In the extremely competitive sports industry, Chris Stuart has developed a solid reputation and established his business by partnering with an elite and selective client base. Encore represents a variety of athletes and corporations including Brand Affinity Technologies, Sage Trading Cards, the Topps Company, Mantle IP Holdings, Ted Williams Family Enterprises, Drew Brees, CC Sabathia and Legacy Sports Group.

Prior to launching Encore Sports & Entertainment, Mr. Stuart was Director of Licensing and Acquisitions for the Upper Deck Company where he was responsible for handling all negotiations with athletes, leagues and strategic partners. While at Upper Deck, he recruited and negotiated exclusive agreements with athletes such as Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, David Beckham, Peyton Manning and Derek Jeter.

Mr. Stuart launched his career in sports with the San Diego Chargers in their player personnel and marketing departments. While interning for the San Diego Charger organization, Mr. Stuart received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law. He has been a member of the California State Bar since 1996.

A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. Stuart graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Business Administration. He now resides with his wife Ashleigh Stuart and their two children, in Encinitas, California.


Kevin Cahill — Vice President
Mr. Cahill has in excess of 15 years of corporate legal and sports and entertainment marketing experience including service as Vice President of Business and Legal and General Counsel with The Upper Deck Company. In the course of his experience, Mr. Cahill has had frequent exposure in negotiating licensing deals with some of the world's top athletes and entertainment properties including Michael Jordan, Kevin Garnet, Kobe Bryant, Muhammad Ali, Peyton Manning, Disney, 4Kids and Bandai.

In 2004, Mr. Cahill began service as VP and General Counsel for Encore Sports & Entertainment, LLC, where he's been since 2004 since joining Encore as a founding member. His background and experience has afforded him with a keen understanding of what businesses and athletes alike require from their representation resulting in pragmatic solutions to a myriad of issues.

Mr. Cahill is a graduate of San Diego State University in 1989. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1993 and is admitted to practice by the California Bar Association.


Bern Dunigan — Director of Licensing
Mr. Dunigan has more than 12 years of licensing and marketing experience in the sports and high tech industries.

Before coming to Encore, he served as the Licensing Manager at The Upper Deck Company, managing athlete accounts such as Tiger Woods and LeBron James, among others, and was a company liaison with the major sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA) and players associations.

Prior to Upper Deck, Mr. Dunigan served in marketing roles with Oracle and the San Diego Chargers. Mr. Dunigan is a graduate of California State University, Chico.
